Forced to play at their opponents ground because of waterlogged pitches, Witchford took revenge for a defeat earlier in the season with a comfortable win.
Witchford dominated the first half with the ball rarely coming into their half for the first ten minutes and took the lead through Oliver Jarrett being in the right place at the right time to sweep the ball home for his first goal for the club. Matt Ashman then broke free to slot the ball past the home keeper. A third wasn't long in coming when Matthew Loades again got his head on a corner to nod the ball home. The lead was stretched even further when Ruaridh MacDonald placed the ball inside the post for the fourth. Whilst the goals were well taken the defence were also in commanding form, well disciplined and clearing up the Mildenhall through balls comfortably with the home team limited to a couple of decent chances.
Witchford lost the last game by sitting back in the second half. Mildenhall raised their game in this one but the Witchford defence and midfield were working hard, winning the 50:50 balls and not offering many opportunities. The team were not put off by the stop start nature of the game and Witchford again broke through with David Thompson placing the ball well for the fifth. Further chances were created but some good last ditch defending by Mildenhall prevented any goals. An awkward bounce deceived Niall in goal and gave Mildenhall the chance to score a consolation goal. However, Witchford were not done and Matthew broke free from midfield, the keeper saved his shot well only for the rebound to fall to Ruaridh who made no mistake for his second.
A great team performance by everybody.
